Cihan Motors is established as the Automotive Division of Cihan Group, becoming the first private company to import brand new vehicles directly into Iraq.
1997
Foundation of Cihan Motors
Erbil Branch at Kirkuk Road opened as company's Head Quarters and Iraq's first Toyota-Authorized 3S facility (Sales, Service & Spare Parts), setting a new standard for automotive retail in the country. Augmented by a dedicated Toyota Genuine Motor Oil (TGMO) showroom and a Parts shop later.
Foundation of Cihan Motors
Cihan Motors is established as the Automotive Division of Cihan Group, becoming the first private company to import brand new vehicles directly into Iraq.

Sulaymaniyah Branch Opens
Cihan Motors expands its network with the opening of the Sulaymaniyah Branch, bringing Toyota's authorized sales and service standards to the Kurdistan Region's second-largest city. Augmented by a Quick Lube Service & Parts Shop later.
Cihan Motors pioneers the Kurdistan Taxi Project — importing 17,000 beige-colored Toyota Corolla vehicles directly from Japan, transforming public transportation across the Kurdistan Region.

Kurdistan Farmers Union Project
In partnership with the Kurdistan Farmers Union, Cihan Motors imports 15,000 Toyota Hilux vehicles directly from Toyota factories in Japan, empowering agricultural communities across Kurdistan.
2010
The Duhok Branch is inaugurated, completing Cihan Motors' presence across all three major governorates of the Kurdistan Region under Toyota network.

A second Erbil facility opens on the 100-Metre Road — Erbil's prime commercial corridor — further expanding Cihan Motors' capacity and accessibility in the capital.
