Toyota is shifting toward a "mobility company" in this once-in-a-century period of profound transformation.

In the 2021 Olympic and Paralympic Games hosted in Tokyo, Toyota introduced some of its most advanced mobility prototypes. Its 90%-electric fleet reduced carbon emissions by half and offered a glimpse of the advanced mobility future that the company imagines.

APM Accessible People Mover

APM (Accessible People Mover) is a mobility vehicle designed and used at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2021. With the vision of "Mobility for All," APM offered a "one-last-mile" solution that helped transport as many people as possible to events and venues, including athletes and staff related to the Games as well as all types of visitors.

Named for the water cycle (sky, ocean, river, air), this fuel cell-powered bus has been refined in form and function to support the mobility of all citizens while protecting the environment from harmful CO2.

JPN Taxi is outfitted in a traditional Japanese color, koiai (indigo), which symbolizes security, dignity, and formality. But inside its sliding doors, the interior is flexible for a range of passengers.

The LQ

"LQ" is a concept vehicle that leverages advanced technology to build an emotional bond between car and driver under a core development theme of "learn, grow, love." LQ is equipped with automated-driving capabilities and "Yui," a powerful artificial-intelligence-powered interactive agent designed to learn from the driver and deliver a personalized mobility experience. The name "LQ" expresses Toyota's hope that this approach will "cue" the development of future vehicles that enhance the relationship between car and driver.
